The five steps
Step 1
Free consult & site visit
We walk your site, measure, and talk through how you’ll use the building.
- A call to understand what you want to build, then a visit to your property at no cost.
- We look at access for trucks and lifts, where the pad should go, drainage, trees, power and septic needs, and anything that affects the foundation.
- We check which city or county permits your parcel and ask about deed restrictions or HOA rules.
Typical timing: Within a week of your call
Step 2
Design & engineered quote
You get a written quote with the size, options and a clear scope of work.
- We size the building: footprint, eave height, roof pitch, doors, windows, insulation, colors and add-ons like lean-tos and porches.
- The manufacturer engineers the building for your site’s wind and roof loads.
- You get a written quote that spells out what is included and what isn’t, so there are no surprise change orders.
Typical timing: About 1–2 weeks
Step 3
Permits & foundation
Stamped drawings go to permitting while we prep the site and pour the slab.
- Stamped drawings and anchor-bolt plans arrive from the manufacturer, and we prepare the permit package.
- Site work: clearing, building pad and driveway access as needed.
- The slab is formed with anchor bolts set and checked against the manufacturer’s plan before the pour.
Typical timing: Varies by permit office and site
Step 4
Steel erection
Our own crew sets the frames, sheets the building and installs doors and trim.
- Steel is delivered, unloaded and inventoried against the bill of materials.
- Our crew stands the primary frames, then installs purlins, girts and bracing, followed by insulation, roof and wall panels, trim, gutters and doors.
- You get regular updates and photos, and one point of contact the whole way through.
Typical timing: Days to weeks, by size
Step 5
Walkthrough & handoff
We walk the building with you, finish the punch list and hand over the documents.
- A final walkthrough to check every door, panel and trim detail.
- Punch-list items fixed and the site cleaned up.
- You get your drawings, warranty paperwork and anything your insurer or lender needs.
Typical timing: Final day on site
FAQ
Timeline questions
How long does it take to build a metal building?
Erection is the fast part, often days to a few weeks. Engineering, manufacturing lead times, permits and the slab usually set the overall schedule. You get a written timeline with your quote.
What usually causes delays?
Permit review, manufacturing lead times, wet weather during site work and changes after the order is placed. Finalizing doors and options before ordering avoids most of it.
How soon can you come out to measure?
Usually within a week of your call. Quote requests are answered within one business day.
